An American Salute

November 19, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Windy City Winds is proud to present an evening of symphonic band music celebrating American heroes past and present, featuring 10-year-old violin soloist Sylvia Pine!

Described as “adorable and formidable” by the Illinois Times, Sylvia has been playing violin since the age of two and has received global recognition for her playing, including winning first prize in over 30 international competitions. She will make her solo debut with Windy City Winds performing Massenet’s “Meditation from Thais” and Wieniawski’s “Obertass Mazurka”.

The evening will also feature selections from the documentary series “Victory at Sea”, along with “American Salute” by Morton Gould, “Eternal Father, Strong to Save (The Navy Hymn)” by Claude T. Smith, and “American Hymnsong Suite” by Dwayne S. Milburn.

Attend live in person in St. Pauls Gym or watch via LiveStream here: https://www.spucc.org/streaming/

Masks and proof of vaccination are required for entry to the event. Space is limited so early arrival is encouraged.
