Our 3rd concert season will include three formal concerts, performed in the sanctuary at St. Pauls United Church of Christ, 2335 N. Orchard in Lincoln Park. Each of these concerts will be on a Friday evening, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. Admission is FREE, but donations are accepted.
Each concert this season will feature music by Leonard Bernstein (celebrating the centennial of his birth).
November 19, 2017: American Originals
A program of innovative works by American composers, featuring music by Leonard Bernstein (Overture to Candide), William Schuman (Chester), Vincent Persichetti (Divertimento), Charles Ives (Fugue in C), Eric Whitacre (October), and John Zdechlik (Chorale and Shaker Dance). Euphonium soloist Eon Cooper will perform Night Song (Homage to Howard Hanson) by composer Ron Nelson.
March 9, 2018: Cityscapes
A program of music inspired by urban settings, featuring music by Leonard Bernstein (Three Dance Episodes from On the Town), William Schuman (George Washington Bridge), Morton Gould (Pavanne), Scott Boerma (Cityscape), and Mark Camphouse (A Movement for Rosa).
May 11, 2018: Adventures
A program in tribute to the late Dr. Harry Begian, director emeritus of bands at the University of Illinois, featuring music by Alfred Reed (Armenian Dances), Percy Grainger (Over the Hills and Far Away), Leonard Bernstein (Slava! A Political Overture), Giuseppe Verdi (La Forza del Destino Overture) Richard Wagner (Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral), and John Williams (E.T.: Adventures on Earth). Our featured guest conductor will be Dr. Bruce Moss, director of bands at Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and music director of the Wheaton Municipal Band.
The band will also perform this season at the following senior communities:

* Sunday April 8, 2018, 2:00 pm at The Admiral at the Lake, 929 W. Foster Ave.
